Trump Tweets Mussolini Quote, and Defends It

Trump tweets fascist dictator's quote

So, Trump was actually tricked into this. But, he goes on Meet the Press and endorses the quote anyway.
I guess his ego is such that he'd rather be thought of as a fascist than admit he's been duped.

Basically Trump just doesn't give a s**t. That may be fine for his reality TV show, but do you really want that type of person as President representing the US and its people ? Guess we may find out.

The GOP certainly has inherited one more mess.

Re: Trump Tweets Mussolini Quote, and Defends It

We've been hearing a whole lot of fear come out around fascism and statements from Donald Trump.

Does anyone have a legitimate concern about this?

I mean, it's a campaign and people get jacked up during campaigns. Think back to Obama and how big the crowds were when he ran. Remember Berlin, or how he filled the Denver Broncos stadium for his first nomination acceptance speech?

But then people get elected and everyone goes back to their day-to-day lives and nothing really changes.

If anyone thinks Donald Trump is going to get Mexico to build a wall, or deport 12 million immigrants, or change libel laws, or end common core, or any of these domestic policies he yammers on about, they are deluding themselves. All presidents and presidential candidates, in one way or the other, are megalomaniacs.

That's why our system is set up like it is. To keep power at bay from one person. Heck, if anything, a Trump presidency may actually get congress to work again, rather than drop all the power of the House and Senate into either its leadership or through ceding it to the Executive Branch.

And that's even if Trump wins the presidency, which he won't.

I am honestly concerned about Trump''s fascist tendencies, and the fact that so many find them appealing.
When someone speaks hateful ideas, you assume it's all a show at your own peril.

Trump isn't some new or off the wall thing. He's the culmination of a long term, ugly trend.

Gotta agree with you, Goose. Some of the filth & racist remarks out of Trumps racist mouth are scary, even to Europeans.
