A depressing story no matter what the cause is. But if this was intentional....... maybe a public hanging?

Federal wildlife authorities are investigating the deaths of 13 bald eagles discovered Saturday on the Eastern Shore.Investigators were called Saturday afternoon to a farm in Caroline County. The farm on Laurel Grove Road in Federalsburg lies west of the 3,800-acre Idylwild Natural Area.

A man looking for shed deer antlers noticed four dead bald eagles, said Candy Thomson, spokeswoman for the Maryland Natural Resources Police.Officers searched the grounds and discovered nine more dead eagles, she said.Maryland officers turned evidence over to investigators with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Thomson directed questions to the agency.Additional information was not available Sunday afternoon. Officials have not said if the bald eagles were intentionally killed.
