North Dakota's oil bust blows $1 billion hole in state budget

North Dakota is NOT the only state facing the crunch because of the lack of revenue from oil as prices plummet. Alaska is is the same bind even more so. Alaska in particular has had a "free ride" economically speaking for quite a while but there also the stark reality is setting in financially for the state.

Agreed and I have to think the drop in energy prices is partially to blame for Pennsylvania's inability to finalize the budget as I'm sure Gov. Wolf had depended on drilling rates to be at Rendell/Corbett era level to meet his revenue targets.
