Re: Sears announces it's closing at least 50 stores

I think Sears should have ran with the "Sears Hardware" concept they came up with a while ago and abandoned softlines completely. Seems like many people associate Sears with Craftsman tools, Kenmore appliances, and so on.

Instead they wasted money by acquiring Lands End and then spinning it off a dozen years later as sales flounder. I rarely go to Sears to look at clothing and if I do, it's usually just to pick through the clearance racks to find some cheap deals.

When was the last time you bought something from Sears?

2015 -- bought a stainless steel Kenmore range & oven from the Sears outlet store in Newark, DE

We also plan on purchasing kitchen appliances for my daughter's beach house renovation from the same place.

That store is a gold mine. My wife and I bought our first washer and dryer from that store in 2000
