Palin. Help, Hurt, or no effect?

What does a Sarah Palin endorsement do for Donald Trump?
Not much, if you ask me.

I figure that the people who like Sarah Palin are already predisposed to like Donald Trump.
Maybe it hurts Cruz a little, but that's about it.

On the negative side.
If Trump really feels like he has this thing in the bag, Palin, who many in the Establishment as well as independents think is a kook, doesn't help at all. She may impede the establishment from going from denial to acceptance.
And she is poison in the general.

Second thoughts by team Trump?

After Trump Camp Plugs 'Special Guest,' Palin a No-Show in Iowa

A day after endorsing Donald Trump, Sarah Palin failed to appear as expected at a campaign rally for the GOP frontrunner Wednesday morning.

Trump supporters in Norwalk, Iowa, had been advised on Tuesday that Trump would appear "with a very special guest" in the wake of the high-profile endorsement by the former Alaska governor.

But in Norwalk, Trump gave a relatively standard stump speech -- heavy on criticism of GOP rival Ted Cruz -- without being joined by the onetime vice-presidential candidate at all.

The Trump campaign has not yet responded to a request for comment from NBC News.

Palin shared the stage with Trump on Tuesday night in Ames, Iowa, to announce her endorsement of the real estate mogul. In a sometimes disjointed address to the crowd, Palin said Trump is "going rogue left and right."

"Are you ready for a commander-in-chief, you ready for a commander-in-chief who will let our warriors do their job and go kick ISIS ass?" she said.

Palin's son is also in the headlines after his arrest Monday night on domestic abuse charges in Wasilla, Alaska.

Trump is scheduled to hold a campaign rally at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, later Wednesday.

Re: Palin. Help, Hurt, or no effect?

I think that if you like Donald Trump, you're probably pre-disposed to liking Sarah Palin and vice-versa. They're both celebrity loud mouths who seem to attract a certain type of voter.

So I think it helps Trump as it validates to that type of voter that they've hitched their wagon to the right guy.

But, her endorsing Trump killed her standing in the Republican party and conservative movement. Once Trump is out of the race, she'll disappear.

This is interesting......

Sarah Palin a No Show at Today’s Trump Events

According to press releases issued by the Trump campaign, Palin was supposed to spend today (and the next several days) criss-crossing Iowa with Donald Trump, stumping for him. However, at the rally Trump held this morning, Palin was absent with no explanation from the Trump camp. Instead, Trump just took the stage for a little longer than planned.

However, at the rally Trump held this morning, Palin was absent with no explanation from the Trump camp. Instead, Trump just took the stage for a little longer than planned.

The media inquired about Palin’s absence and were basically given “no comment” in response.

Speculation, of course, is that Palin has gone back home to help address the legal ramifications involved with her son’s latest arrest. However, the arrest had already happened the day before yesterday and presumably Palin missed his arraignment yesterday in the course of giving her endorsement speech for Trump, so it seems that she made the conscious decision to keep with her political schedule yesterday.

It’s equally possible, of course, that the Trump camp has politely asked Palin to step aside, as her speech yesterday was widely panned both in the conservative media and also by the audience who attended the rally.

At this point, in other words, it’s still unclear whether Palin’s unexpected absence from the campaign trail is due to her decision or Trump’s.

Re: Palin. Help, Hurt, or no effect?

I've never seen anyone squander political capital like Sarah Palin has over the last 8 years.
Now it appears as if even the likes of Donald Trump wants to keep her at arms length.

Re: Palin. Help, Hurt, or no effect?

Saw her speaking at the Trump rally in Oklahoma today. One of her red meat talking points was that wwe need a president with guts that will understand and stick up for our men and women in uniform that are on active duty and veterans who are in need of medical and mental health services from the VA. She rambled on about how Obama has failed miserably at this because he has no direct experience with the armed forces (like she or Donald does). She said, without directly mentioning the fact that her son, Track, currently under arrest for domestic violence, is a veteran and has been going through some hardships possibly related to his military service. So, again without getting specific about her son, Palin said she is intimately aware of what returning servicemen go through 'with PTSD and other stuff' and we have Barack Obama to blame for that.

It's just uncanny how Sarah and Trump can turn any situation into the fault of the Obama administration. They will probably try to blame the weather on him since they don't believe in climate change.

Re: Palin. Help, Hurt, or no effect?

Logic says it should hurt, but there hasn't been a whole lot of logic present in this presidential race so far, so who the hell knows?
