Trump takes 17-point lead in national poll
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump holds a 17-point lead over his closest rival in a CBS/New York Times national poll released Tuesday evening. Trump has 36 percent support from GOP primary voters nationally, followed by Ted Cruz, at 19 percent, and Marco Rubio, at 12 percent.
A majority of Trump supporters in the latest national poll, 52 percent, say that their mind is made up, while 47 percent say it's too early to say who they will support.

I'm not sure Common is a Trump supporter. He may be simply reporting news. I don't know, but maybe he will respond to your question.
Anyway, the mere fact that a guy like Trump has gotten this far with so much support says more about us than it does about him. Should we be surprised? I must admit that it has opened my eyes to a side of America that I knew was out there, but not in the numbers it apparently is.

I do like looking at the polls as well.
But, I am interesting, as we all are, in this contest beyond the horserace aspect of it.
What is the appeal of Donald Trump?
I'll pick one admittedly odd example. I watched Trump giving a speech last year in which he said, "When I'm president people will say Merry Christmas again, I guarantee you".
What does that even mean?
