Haley Faces Conservative Backlash After SOTU Response
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley impressed some Democrats and moderate Republicans with her Republican response to the State of the Union Tuesday night - but there's already backlash brewing on the conservative right.
"Trump should deport Nikki Haley," conservative commentator Ann Coulter tweeted part way through Haley's speech. She later added: "Nikki Haley says 'welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of religion.' Translation: let in all the Muslims."
"Trump should deport Nikki Haley"
Deport a US citizen, for what , exactly?
Oh yea, for having an opinion that the far right doesn't care for.
And for being of Indian Descent (In other words, not a real 'merican)
I hate Godwin's Law.*
But, it's time. Let the Nazi analogies fly.
* Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Nazi analogies) is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"

Ann Coulter and Trump are twins !

The reason the conservative base reacted the way they did is because Haley did a remarkable job with her speech. And events like the SOTU and the rebuttal are actually watched by a lot of people who may not regularly follow the ins and outs of politics.
Bottom line is that she hurt Trump and Cruz last night and helped candidates like Rubio, Christie, and Kasich.
Could you imagine a Rubio/Haley presidential ticket? It would completely turn upside-down the caricature of what the GOP has traditionally been.

As far as the base,,,,what can I say?
A few weeks ago an article was posted here in which the author complained about democrats imposing a caricature of the ignorance, stupidity, and bigotry of the GOP base and conservative movement.
And of Trump’s supporters as “culturally alienated, conservative white male voters” who have “been manipulated … into a perpetual state of aggrieved indignation” by right-wing talk-radio, which constantly assures its listeners that “their ill-informed, illiberal, anti-government, anti-Washington, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim views are irrefutably, indisputably, incontrovertibly correct.”
Well, when one of the conservative voices goes off like Ann Coulter did, it re-enforces that narrative.
If the base wants to be seen as possessing a reasoned point of view they need to disavow people when they say stupid hateful things like this.
And Haley on a ticket might just be lightning in a bottle.

Well is seems that Ann Coulter has with one really, really stupid tweet destroyed Trump, Trump supporters and the Republican party if you believe what has been post here?
What does Ann Coulter do? She throws firebombs to create the most upset that she can!
And she threw a whopper this time. The liberal blogosphere is having convolutions over this.
The woman is a pundit who each day tries to create headlines and she achieved her goal this time.
So now because of her every Republican, every Trump supporter will be judged by what one person did?
Really? A made up so called news story so there is a reason to question large groups of people. You people must be…………. Go down the stupid list!
Gov Haley was born in Bamberg, South Carolina which makes the whole thing just ridiculous.
Coulter's book sales just went up. Probably the whole point in this exercise.

Commonsense
Actually, CS, no one suggested that Coulter destroyed Trump and the republican party with her tweet.
I do wish that you would avoid these fanciful, sweeping generalizations.
In any event, CS, One would have thought that you'd direct your ire at the person who made the stupid, hateful remark rather than at those who took note of it.
Oh well.
Coutler has sold millions of books and is a frequent and welcome guest on both conservative radio and TV shows. You can't pretend that she's a an aberration when she embarrasses your team.
If you don't care for the caricature of conservatives that exists, then forcefully call out those conservatives who play right into the narrative.
No one did anything wrong by taking note of Coulter's boneheaded remarks. She did wrong by making those remarks.

Interesting observation.
You sure about that?
Seems awfully early to have book sale data from something that happened less than 24 hours ago.
Suppose it is true.
I wonder, who buys Ann Coulter's books?
Not liberals.
Not Moderates.
Conservatives buy her books.
And, if Coulter's book sales go up after she makes bigoted remarks,,,,,,,,,,,,
doesn't that support the argument that a proportion of The Base really is ignorant and bigoted?
