Mississippi councilman says throw rocks at police chasing petty crooks
(CNN)A city councilman fed up with police from other counties racing after small-time crooks in his Jackson, Mississippi, neighborhood has called for residents to throw things at officers in pursuit.Now, the governor and a county sheriff are threatening to have prosecutors investigate him over the suggestion.
Wow, just wow. An elected official telling people to attack police. So how is the public supposed to know, while the chase is happening, if the people the police are chasing are armed and dangerous or just a petty thief?

Sounds like a dumb idea to me. Why would the police from another county be chasing small-time crooks in a Jackson, Mississippi neighborhood, anyway?

A really stupid statement by the councilman.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

1.Throwing rocks at police
2. Police from other counties chasing petty criminals in places they aren't familiar
3. A public official actually encouraging citizens to do that
Three dumb things. I guess.
