Hyperbole that means nothing.
We know you want guns banned? OK
No need for any more discussion.
Do your best to get them banned.

Knock off the personal stuff.

As far as ending the discussion, it's Fred's thread.
If he wants me to close it I will.
It's not up to you.

Re: Texas Just Got Safer

Hold it!  I'm throwing a flag out on the field on this one.  Some study says that handguns are used in most crimes .......... robberies, attempted robberies, car jacking, etc.  We all get that, but that doesn't mean military-style weaponry should be sold to the public.

When it comes to mass murders, the weapon of choice would be one that would inflict the most harm in the shortest amount of time.  What were the weapons used in crimes like that?

I think you are misinterpreting or misunderstanding what I'm talking about here, Common.  Goose, rongone, flowergirl and I are not living in some kind dream world thinking all guns will be banned.  We are just saying there needs to some rational discussion about what kind of weaponry should manufactured, distributed, and sold to the public.  We don't lead the world in mass murders because a bunch of people are running around with handguns.

Re: Texas Just Got Safer

Good post, Fred.
We know that hand guns are used in most crimes. Have known it for quite some time.

Posting that fact like its some sort of revelation incorrectly frames the issues on assault weapons.

Fred,
We don't lead the world in murders!

Semi auto rifles are rarely used in murders. Have you read any of my posts? Go look at the FBI stats.

Your last sentence is completely untrue

Re: Texas Just Got Safer

This politically defined category of guns — a selection of rifles, shotguns and handguns with “military-style” features — only figured in about 2 percent of gun crimes nationwide before the ban.

If they are used in only one mass shooting . . . Does that make them OK for the general public?

Re: Texas Just Got Safer

That graph is simply appalling, Fred.
Shame on us as a nation.
