I believe all newly elected officials who start after 1/1/18 must go into the new hybrid pension plan and do not have the choice of entering the old pension plan.

Current officials who are re-elected will have the choice of either continuing in the pension plan or switching to the hybrid plan.  All state employees will remain in the pension plan.
