America's worst president ever

Polls and opinion pieces like this are sure to produce conversation, conflict, and adamant differing viewpoints.

Just what this exchange needs . . . right?

Re: America's worst president ever

Interesting essay. Certainly a damning account of Wilson's presidency.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

I do like the fact that Merry uses the criteria of the consequences of a president's actions for the nation to evaluate them. It's a very refreshing contrast to other such "evaluations" that seem to focus on one's personal dislike for a President.
This definitely takes things up a few notches intellectually.

Re: America's worst president ever

The U. S. has had its share of bad presidents but I grew up always knowing that Herbert Hoover was our worst leader.  As a child that's what my elders always said and I always believed this.  Historians will continue to write about and to rate our political leaders til the end of time.
