Scientists planning their own march in Washington

IF it happens, wait for the "Tweet Storm".  It will probably be a "doozie".

I am there!

Re: Scientists planning their own march in Washington

In my lifetime I don't ever remember such open vitrol and disdain of an incomming POTUS. When you add the worldwide similar reaction it is rather astounding.

While there was widespread more covert racist reaction to Obama (that persisted throughout his Administration) there was NEVER anything like this or as open.

Words DO have consequences and we are seeing it big time.

I don't see him recovering from the perception that these people have of him. It IS possible, but I don't think he knows how to do it given how he operates.

In my lifetime I cannot remember a chief executive offering such hatred for science and learning

Re: Scientists planning their own march in Washington

Here's a cool story.

Shaughnessey Naughton, who lives in Bucks County, PA and ran for Congess in my district (I voted for her in the primary last year but she lost) has started a political action committee to recruit scientists to run for office.

The PAC is called 314 Action and The Atlantic has a write up on it here

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

That is a great idea. I wish her well. It would be nice if legislatures, both state and national had more people in them who understood science. Damned useful, in fact.
