A Code Orange air quality action day for ozone has been issued Thursday for 12 counties, including York County, according to the Department of Environmental Protection.Temperatures Thursday are scheduled to extend into the 80s, and as a result of the sunny and warm conditions, ozone is expected to stay within the Code Orange range in York County, according to a news release.

On Code Orange action days, young children, the elderly and people with respiratory problems like asthma, emphysema or bronchitis, are especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution and should limit outdoor activities, according to the release. In addition to York County, the following counties were issued the Code Orange air quality action day for ozone: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery and Northampton.

What causes elevated ozone levels?

In a 2006 United Nations’ Food and Agricultural Organization report, it claims that the livestock sector, most of which are cows, “generates more greenhouse gas emissions as measured in CO2 equivalent – 18 percent – than transport.”

According to a Danish study, the average cow produces enough methane per year to do the same greenhouse damage as four tons of carbon dioxide.  So is this significantly contributing to global warming?

Are elevated ozone layers, and climate change the same phenomena?

You posted the thread. Does that mean you believe in a manmade cause for elevated ozone levels, for climate change?
For Both? For neither?

I'm confused. Please elaborate.
And,,,,,, is  there something in your eye?

OK, so we had a bad ozone day.

Tell us how to eliminate ozone.

Plus what does ozone bad air day have to do with methane. Do we have bad methane days ?

I'll add
19 Support public Transportation
20. Support research into clean enery sources.

As for your second question, the fact that livestock produce methane seems to be of great interest to, and felt to be humorous by, climate change deniers. I don't understand why. But, they bring it up all the time.
