Bill Clinton calls Obamacare 'the craziest thing in the world
Speaking at a Democratic rally in Flint, Michigan, the former president ripped into the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for flooding the health care insurance market and causing premiums to rise for middle-class Americans who do not qualify for subsidies.

Stick foot in mouth--or, in this instance--both feet.

Well, the problems with increasing premiums for some is an issue that we need to address.
No sense in ignoring the obvious.

I think Bill Clinton has always favored a 'medicare-for-all' approach, or a least a public option. His wife as first lady championed universal healthcare. The problem with the ACA from my perspective is the program is still run as a for-profit business. I'm guessing the Clinton's would agree with me on this.

Clinton's point is spot on. Despite "fair and balanced" editing of his statement, if you listen carefully, he puts the onus on shortcomings realized by ACA squarely on the shoulders of greedy health insurance companies. These are the corporations that are pulling out of markets in order to drive up costs and doing everything they can to destroy the system regardless of the fact that this action jeopardizes the healthcare of millions of Americans. Their interest is profit margins and not the secure healthcare of the majority of citizens.

Obamacare like Medicare has problems. Obamacare's are short term while Medicare is longer term. BOTH need overhauls to protect those that they serve.
We are a nation that is woefully behind most of the rest of the advanced nations in providing health care for all of its citizens.
Unfortunately it is viewed as a political football here in the US. At least the Dems have tried to tackle the issue. The Republicans thus far have little if anything to offer to forward health care for all that is meaningful.

Clinton's assessment of the issues with the ACA for the middle class was spot on and something I wrote about back when we had to enter the exchange because my employer didn't offer insurance for family and my wife was a stay at home mom.
Our premiums doubled, which was not good, but much worse was that the coverage was far worse than what we had before the ACA and the options were so much more limited because of the increased regulation over what had to be in a plan.
That part of it needs to be fixed and has needed to be fixed since the onset of the law.

I would just add that our WHOLE health care system needs to be looked at and overhauled. It is not just the ACA, but Medicare, AND private insurance that have real issues of cost containment (actually NOT being contained). The finger needs to be pointed at ALL of them.

The real purpose of the ACA is to create such frustration and anger at the insurance industry that labor and management alike will beg Congress to enact a single-payer Canukistan type health care system.
