This report, 5 years in the making, will raise major debate between the pro vs con of fracking. While the report is not a complete vinidcation of fracking on drinking water supplies, it does give a boost to supporters. It will SURELY be big news in many arenas for awhile and here on the Exchange I would suppose.

Looks like good news to me!
On the politics side, it will be fun to watch the people who are usually suspicious of scientists, and hate the EPA, crowing over this study.

The only “scientists” you have to be concerned about are the ones who let politics
define their science. I don’t recall anyone on the New Exchange saying they “hate”
The EPA?
Other than the anti-fracking groups I think all will be pleased with this news! Clean drinking water is a good thing.
“Fracking has not led to widespread, systemic pollution of drinking water, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said on Thursday”

I didn't say that I was referring to anyone on the exchange.
You can't deny that many on the right have a huge disdain for the EPA. A quick internet search should cut thru any denial of that.
What I am anticipating is that those who have shown that disdain will now crow about this report.
It's not a difficult concept to grasp.
I'm not really concerned to much about scientists. I'm concerned about people whose opinion of science is determined by their politics.

Sorta like the climate change deniers, or is this a bad time to point that out?

It's a perfect time to point that out.
People who openly ridicule climate science as a "hoax" will be waving this EPA report around like it's the word of God.
They will NOT be saying that "the science isn't settled", that's for sure.
You can't have it both ways.

Tied to this is still another issue that the EPA has responsibility over and likely is also studying quite closely and that is the use of injection wells to store waste water. There is no evidence so far that this process is contaminating water supplies, BUT there IS concern over it causing earthquakes in certain areas. More needs to be researched quickly to understand this related activity.

Yes, there is great concern over this.
It is very important to get some good science on this to make informed policy decisions.
The same could be said for many other issues.
