Lager's analysis was spot-on, that vote was nothing more than each side trying to get the other one on record for voting on something to use against them in the next election.

Now that they got that out of the way, some real negotiations will begin.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Good post. Everytime I start giving into the temptation to believe that our problems can be solved by moving power from the feds to the states, I see something like this.
I'm in the Albany media market and those guys are just as "impressive" as the gang in Harrisburg.


We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
