The Republican Party took back control of both houses of the Wisconsin legislature in 2011. Governor Scott Walker then signed a new redistricting plan. In 2012 elections, Democrats won a majority of the vote but Republicans retained control of the legislature, taking 60 of the 99 seats in the Assembly.
The state legislative districts in Wisconsin are so gerrymandered that the GOP won ~46% of the statewide vote in November of 2018, but will have ~63% of the seats.
