Re: Preakness: Vote for horse you think will win.

American Pharoah and Dortmund are the big favorites and with only 8 horses in the race, I'd say they've got a good chance of finishing 1 - 2. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Firing Line and box it. For my long shot, I'd go with Bodhisattva.

I'd rather bet than just vote.

And, I can't believe (even on a subject about who you like in a horse race) you, Common, just post and run without stating a position. Man, I can't imagine what it's like to go out to dinner with you. I mean, you've got that printed menu with all those choices on it and you have to choose something. I'll bet you would just wait till I ordered, criticize my order, and then leave the restaurant.    (winking)

Are you trying to bait me into an Argument? I think you are trying your best.....
All you needed to was vote on the web site. It's just that easy!

I think that rongone raises a valid point.
You start lots of threads, rarely state an opinion,  and usually never revisit the thread. And you get angry if anybody disagrees. Really angry.

Fewer threads with some actual dialogue would make the site more interesting than the post and run

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Nope.

Just stating the obvious. (yawn)

Re: Preakness: Vote for horse you think will win.

Dortmund started out on the Morning Line at 7/2. When I checked an hour ago he was at 7/1. Wonder why someone knows?

Firing Line seems to be taking in a lot of money. I don't like American Pharoh coming out of gate 1, but in such a small field, AP has a ligit chance.

But in an attempt to make a little money, I'm going to put $10 on Danzig Moon to win, do a $2 box Danzig Moon, AP, and Firing Line on the trifecta, and a 50 cent superfecta box with Danzig, AP, Firing Line, and Mr. Z. Will call my wager in to my father in law who is hanging out on the rail at Delaware Park today.

That's $35 worth of bets. Let's hope lady luck is on my side this afternoon.

Good luck to all betting on the ponies.

Edit to add: Dortmund's line now down to 5/1
