Oh No, Not Omarosa, Too!

Omarosa Manigault-Newman, the former reality TV star turned political aide to President Trump, has resigned from her administration position, the White House announced Wednesday.

Manigault-Newman resigned on Tuesday "to pursue other opportunities," press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. Her departure will not be effective until Jan. 20, 2018 — exactly one year since Trump took office.

"We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service," Sanders said.

The terms of her departure, however, appeared more dramatic than the White House let on.

Manigault-Newman was fired and escorted out of the building on Tuesday night, sources told BuzzFeed News. April Ryan, who covers the White House and has feuded with Manigault-Newman, also reported Wednesday there was "drama" around the departure.

One White House official with knowledge of the situation described an ongoing situation where Manigault-Newman grew increasingly fed up with how the administration handled racially charged issues, adding that moving from crisis to crisis particularly drained the White House. Manigault-Newman has told friends in the past few months, the source said, that being the only black staffer in White House meetings was a source of stress.

Re: Oh No, Not Omarosa, Too!

What I've been reading is that John Kelly fired her yesterday and that she was escorted from the White House by security.

The story that she is stepping away is come from Omerosa herself.

I can't believe that she would walk away from a $177,000 a year a job in which she essentially does nothing.

A person whose only qualification was appearing on The Apprentice is moving on to "Pursue other opportunities."

She's running for President?

Good point, Lager.  However, she said she never understood what her job was.  Here's something I always told my students:  "If you want want to drive someone crazy, pay them to do nothing".  Think about it.  If I hired you (or anyone else) to come to work, sit in a chair or walk around doing nothing for 8 or 10 hours/day, how long would any of us last no matter what we were paid?

Re: Oh No, Not Omarosa, Too!

The latest reporting is once Gen. Kelly fired her, she tried to break into the President's residence and had to be dragged out of the White House.

I guess Trump was right when he said he'd hire nothing but the "best people".

“It got physical and she had to be removed,” the source said.

That's one classy joint they are running there on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
