Donald Trump is at the G20 Summit in Germany.

And he made this observation:

Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!

I hear that folks are buzzing about the DNC server in every beerhall in Hamburg!

Tweeting early Friday morning from the Group of 20 summit in Germany, President Trump said “everyone here is talking about” how Democrats handled the hacking related to last year’s presidential election.
Trump appeared to conflate John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, with the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Both were breached and had documents leaked by hackers the intelligence community believes were working for Russia.

Podesta was not working for the DNC at the time and would have had no authority over their servers.

I'm confused, common.
You seem to be suggesting that when trump issues a bizarre statement, and the media then reports the bizarre statement, that this is some sort of extraordinary event, and some sort of "victory".
How so?
I mean, Trump is the President of the United States. When he makes a statement, it WILL make news.
Even when it is stupid. There is no great accomplishment there.
Please tell me, how do these bizarre statements advance the national interest?
Trump is at the G20, and still obsessing about the 2016 election. Don't you think that he should get his head in the game?
If Trump can truly control the national discussion with his tweets, shouldn't he tweet about something of actual importance?
Really, shouldn't he?
Or do you actually believe that the participants at the G20 are discussing the DNC server?

Actually Trumps tweets control his faithful in keeping them entertained while he basically has not accomplished anything legislatively. Why the heck he chose to start with Health care is beyond me other than what I believe his strange affliction to hate Obama. Well it is NOW the GOP albatross and THEY can now take the heat for not being able even to come together after 8 years of bitchin about repeal and replace ESPECIALLY that they now have the Presidency and BOTH houses of Congress.
So instead of getting things done, Trump realizes he has to divert and entertain his faithful so they are not paying attention. Had he led with infrastructure spending which would have meant a lot of good paying jobs for the Average Joes that would have been something productive as it had general bipartisan support. Even tax cuts IF they were done well could have been of immediate benefit to the Average Joe.
So all you people who want to blindly support him, keep thinking that these tweets really accomplish something.

Good point, Tennyson. If I had as little to show for 6 months in the Oval Office as does Trump, I'd want my fans ranting about Joe and Mika as well.
The question then, is not why Trump does it. The question is, why does this silliness continue to delight and mesmerize his fans?
I mean, the act is getting old. Trump reminds me of an aging rocker, who hasn't written anything new in ages but continues to tour playing his old favorites.
