I was doing our periodic exercise routines at the YM today and after our workout, I usually sit down and watch what is on the news. Typically the TV is tuned to FOX. Sheppard Smith was on with a report coming live from Baltimore. Initially it appered from reports and "eyewitness" accounts that a black man was shot (one eyewitness said in the back) by police. Later the story changed that no one was shot (the man was subdued and taken to hospital) and a gun (presumably his) was on the ground.
The crowd reaction was predictible with some trying to urge restraint. I had to leave and in the wake Shep was appoligizing for the bad initial info.
My intent in posting this is NOT to criticize FOX who seem to give out the changing info as they found out themselves, but rather how volitile a situation like Baltimore can become when bad info comes out. You had to see it for youselves and perhaps there will be more later on FOX or other national news channels.
In addition you have to wonder if the "eyewitness" that saw the black man being shot in the back was lying through her teeth or just saw things differently.
Anyone else see it as it played out. Here is the only good account I saw when looking for it on the internet.

Sorry, did not see it.
Glad the correct info got out there before all hell broke loose.

I watched the police officer explaining to the gathered crowd say over & over again that no one was injured, no one was shot, the man's gun want off accidently, yet people continued to ask about someone being shot or what they heard. Members of the crowd believed what they wanted and weren't even listening to the officer. How frustrating.
