In watching the testimony today, all I see is a person with great integrity and class.
He certainly did some things albeit I believe in the best interest of the US that made enemies on both sides of the aisle, but that said. I have tremendous respect for Mr Comey.

I will say after listening to the different people questioning Comey, that Senator McCain really appears to be close to be not having real comprehension of what he is hearing or saying. It was difficult watching a man that at one time was very sharp appear to have lost a lot of his comprehension.
It is one more reason I expect that term limits (or maybe age limits) would be a good thing.

With all of the prepared testimony that was released yesterday, I don't get a whole lot of new information out of the today's hearing.
But the one thing that really caught me by surprise was when very early on in the hearing Comey called directly and without mincing words, a "liar".
Comey has spent a career in criminal justice. He was a prosecutor and the head of the FBI. I have to think he knows how to read someone up and down to determine whether what they are telling him is truthful and about their character in general. It's telling over just a couple of meetings that Comey had sized Trump up as a liar.

I was also struck by that, Lager. And, it certainly is consistent with the Donald Trump that we have come to know.
I am not a lawyer, so I won't use the term obstruction of justice.
But, I will say that Trump's actions were an abuse of power. They were improper and unethical.
Trump pressured the director of the FBI to stop an investigation into Flynn.
And, he fired Comey to stop the Russia investigation.
This is not Fake news. This is the sworn testimony of the Former director of the FBI, and the actual statements of the President to the Russians in the White House, and to Lester Holt in an interview.
Also, Comey forcefully put the lie to the argument that Russian interference in the 2016 election was a myth spun by bitter democrats. It was real. It was extensive. It was sophisticated. And, they will be back.
That is one thing that Trump apologists need to acknowledge for the good of the nation. Next time the Russians may not favor your candidate.
The other thing; it's well past time to stop pretending that this guy is, or can be, a good President.
He is thuggish, completely ignorant of the issues of our time, unethical, and completely overwhelmed by an office he has no aptitude for.
Trump voters took a chance to change the dynamic. I respect that.
But, it's time to acknowledge that this was a mistake. We need to face some dark days together.
