300 State troopers are going to Baltimore!
I would like to see a few hundred State police cars heading south on I-83
Pennsylvania State Police meet in York before deploying in Baltimore
The 300 state police troopers that are set to deploy to Baltimore Friday morning met at the York Fairgrounds Thursday evening for a pre-briefing, Lt. Col. George Bivens said. The meeting at the fairgrounds was closed to the public, but a large amount of state police cruisers packed the parking lot as troopers met inside the Horticultural Hall.Bivens said the troopers are fully equipped with riot gear and will remain in Baltimore through the beginning of next week. At that point, they will reassess their role with Maryland authorities."The role remains to be determined at this point," Bivens said.

You are happy about this?
This is a ongoing disaster.

Am I understanding this correctly: They're being deployed to Baltimore but not for any specific reason?

And, I would like to see a few hundred state police cars heading back.
But, more importantly I'd like to see Baltimore address the really tough job of getting to the root of the problems that led to the rioting in the first place. Nice to know there are far more peaceful protestors demonstrating and I hope they have a chance to be heard.

Maybe State Police can monitor the Baltimore PD vans to assure people that suspects have their rights, and safety respected.

My only point is you do not see that many police vehicles going somewhere. Just an very odd thing to see!
I agree with you it would be better they did not have to go?
No one wants what is happening in Baltimore or across the country!!

Agreed. It must have been a bit both eerie and parade-like.

I'd like to see PA state polce ANYTIME on 83 and ticketing drivers who are going in excess of even 75 mph! They are a rare sight except at the truck checks.
