Susan Rice

In her PBS interview Susan said the following regarding  the unmasking scandal.
"I know nothing about this I was surprised to see the report from Chairman Nunes on that count today."

Then on a interview on MSNBC after the news broke that she indeed was the high level official who requested multiple times the unmasking of Trump, Trump campaign, Trump transition team. So now she says she did request the unmasking and that this was proper.

After the unmasking this information was leaked many times to the press.

One day she know nothing about this and a few days later I did it but it was proper.  Just so strange.

Re: Susan Rice

Guess you got this picture from a non-partisan publication !

They can investigate Rice all they want and I don't care how it works out, but without people unveiling the dealing of such people as Michael Flynn, we likely NEVER would have known the deep dealings he had and did not disclose.

I DON'T have any problem with investigating leakers, but the REAL ISSUE here is the investigation into foreign interference in our election process. ANY people or group that want to stick there heads in the sand or divert attention from that are not really caring about America and its well being.

Re: Susan Rice

“I Know Nothing About This”: Rice Accused Of Ordering Unmasking Of Trump Aides and Then Lying About Her Knowledge [UPDATED]
I have written about my mixed views of coverage of President Donald Trump. On one hand, he has caused much of the negative coverage with sensational and insulting tweets — as well as unforced errors by his White House staff.  On the other hand, I have never seen more biased coverage by some major outlets which fail to offer counterarguments in favor of Trump orignore developments supporting his claims.  The recent disclosure that the unmasking of Trump aides may have been ordered by President Barack Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice is a case in point.  The most recent story was published by Bloomberg News. The startling disclosure was all but ignored by major outlets and networks or given only passing attention.  As I have said on air, the unmasking allegation is a serious one and it is made all the more serious by the denials of Rice that she had any knowledge of any unmasking. [Update:  Rice has gone on air and, while refusing to address the requests to unmask these individuals, she insisted that such requests are not unusual and, if done, were not done for political purposes.  She did not deny that she was indeed the person asking for the unmasking of the individuals.]

Re: Susan Rice

The diversions from the REAL issue of foreign interference in our election that should concern ALL of us is very telling.

THAT investigation will go on no matter how many smoke screens are put up.

All I can surmise is that you don't care about the other investigation.

Re: Susan Rice

The same bunch of uninformed security "experts" that refer people to Fox 'news', Drudge, Breitbart, and conspiracy theorist sites like legalinsurrection have latched on to this story as another deflection for Trump's Russian troubles. Rather than explain it and "let the process happen", these bozos grasp at straws gleaned from false stories in an effort to distract from what's really going on here. In their latest storyline, they have picked up on a name they bashed in their never ending Benghazi 'investigation: Susan Rice. They figure, if they resurrect this ogre from the past, it will give their diversive actions more credibility. It would be a lot easier if they just disclosed Trump's ties to Russia. Then, maybe he'd get on with the business of actually governing.

But, he won't . . . He's too caught up with things that irritate him so he can engage in another tweetstorm.

Re: Susan Rice

It's not diversions it's a another issue that needs to be looked at.
All I can surmise is that YOU have no interest about what Rice did because you call it a smoke screen.

What the heck are you talking about?  Spewing nonsense. Take five minutes and watch what Rice said in her own words. On PBS she said she knew NOTHING about what happened then when the news broke she was the person who ordered the unmasking she said it legal/proper for her to do it on MSBNC.

I love it when Trump tweets... It sends the media into a tail spin!

Re: Susan Rice

If Susan Rice did something illegal in her position as National Security Adviser requesting the unmasking of American citizens in a FISA warrant, then by all means get to the bottom of it and charge her as necessary.

And if Rice is found to have made the unmasking requests for political purposes (which I don't think can be proven by the way), that is serious and needs to be called out.

I think we all know however that the way the FISA laws are written, she was probably well within her rights to make those requests. FISA laws are very loose and allows for a lot of innocuous data and information to be captured.

Something that we need to consider is that in the era of terrorism fear, we've allowed the surveillance state a lot of leeway to collect information about private citizens and their private business. My recommendation would be to focus on putting tighter clamps on that sort of activity and not focus exclusively on this latest bit of political theater.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

With all due respect Common, it seems that people who buy into all this deflection (and that's all it is -- deflection with absolutely no basis in fact) have completely lost their grasp on reality, reasonableness, and rationality when it comes to Russian connections, wiretapping Trump, and blaming others for self inflicted missteps in governance. I want elected officials to concentrate on doing their jobs rather than raising funds for re-election, kowtowing to political contributors, participating in highly partisan political attacks, and participating in deflective conspiracy theories.

Apparently, based on verified intelligence reports, Russia was actively engaged in trying to influence our elections. Several people in the Trump inner circle have been positively linked to/admitted to having close ties to Russian government/intelligence services. This is unprecedented and dangerous to our representative republic. The Russian government has a strategy to effect elections in Europe and the U.S. through directly influencing politicians and the voting public through social media and news outlets. This nefarious activity is designed to erode traditional democratic governments and eventually replacing them with political regimes that are more aligned with Russian interests around the world. There's nothing more that Vlad Putin would like to see than burgeoning oligarchies throughout the West.

From my perspective, thus far, the Trump administration has put a smile on the face of Putin and his henchmen.

And I find your comment -- "I love it when Trump tweets... It sends the media into a tail spin!" --
As juvenile as junior high school dispute between two jealous rivals caught up in pre-teen hormone rage. This guy is the president of the United States, but his non-thinking tweet storms make him look like an immature, angry pre-adolescent stuck in his mother's basement harboring a bad case of acne. He needs to grow up and act like an adult.
