Border apprehensions hit 17-year low in March

Enforce the laws that currently exist and look at the change in a very short time.

Border apprehensions hit 17-year low in March

Customs and Border Protection agents apprehended fewer than 12,500 people who illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico in March, making it the lowest monthly number in 17 years, according to written testimony from Homeland Security Sec. John Kelly.

The number of unaccompanied minors and family units who were taken into custody on land dropped sharply to 18,762 in February, the first full month of President Trump's administration, which Kelly said was a sign of decreased traffic of illegal immigrants. A total 23,589 illegal immigrants were detained in February including ports of entry near the southern border. Guess we don't need that wall.

Oh yes we do and the bids and design's have been received by Homeland security. Very soon one will win
the bidding process and the construction will start.

We need a lot of things in the US, the Great Wall that Trump has proposed is not one of them.

It's going to be a big and beautiful wall that will help protect our Southern border.
A primary duty of the Federal Government is protection of the people of the United States.

If the numbers have dropped to a 17-year low and continue to fall, then I don't see why we need to build a wall unless Trump has some ties with construction companies that will funnel cash back into his pocket.

I think there could be a "Russian" construction company involved. Just watch MSNBC tonight and you can get the scoop from Madcow.

Did you understand that the wall was a major campaign promise Fred? You make a wild *ss allegation that has no bearing in reality.  Just make up stuff as you go..........   Sad!

Less apprehensions could in theory mean that more illegal immigrants are getting through.

But who knows?

It's always a bad to idea to simply look at a single piece of data and draw a conclusion.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

Common, there won't be a wall.  It's not necessary, campaign promise or not.  I'm also quite skeptical of a businessperson who has been involved in construction most of his life telling me the construction of a wall is really necessary.  The guy just can't negotiate business deals with construction companies to build stuff without congressional approval. There won't be a wall.

It is NOT going to get the money to build "The Great Wall".  I DO expect that we will continue to make improvements to border security including more automated surveillance and extra border agents and some new sections of fence, etc. But sinking THAT kind of money into the "Great Wall" is NOT going to happen.
