Ted Koppel tells Sean Hannity he is bad for America

Ted Koppel on Sunday said he thinks Fox News host Sean Hannity is "bad for America."

During a segment on CBS "Sunday Morning," Hannity defended himself and told Koppel the American people need to be given some credit.

"We have to give some credit to the American people that they're somewhat intelligent and that they know the difference between an opinion show and a news show," Hannity said.

"You're cynical," he added.

Koppel conceded he was cynical, to which Hannity responded:"Do you think we're bad for America? You think I'm bad for America?"

"Yeah," Koppel responded. "In the long haul I think you and all these opinion shows" are.

Hannity told Koppel it was "sad" he felt that way.

“No, you know why? Because you’re very good at what you do," Koppel said, adding, "You have attracted people who are determined that ideology is more important than facts.”

Hannity is a strong supporter of President Trump and often defends the president's actions on his weeknight Fox News show.

On Friday, Hannity denied the president was to blame for Republicans' failure to pass their plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
"After seven long years of Republicans promising to repeal and replace ObamaCare, not getting the job done is unacceptable," said Hannity.

The comments came after Speaker Paul Ryan pulled the GOP healthcare bill amid dwindling support among Republicans, marking a major defeat for the president.

"Let me be very clear here: This is not President Trump's failure," he added. "The president went above and beyond — did everything in his power — to get this bill across the finish line."

That "ideology more important than facts" really hits the nail on the head.

BTW, this applies to BOTH sides of the aisle.

Sadly we have entered a time in which being entertaining is more important than being thoughtful.
Having what you already believe reinforced is more important than learning.
And ratings are thought to be synonymous with excellence.
This is an age that makes it possible for Sean Hannity to be taken seriously,,,,, and for a man like Donald Trump to become President.

Re: Ted Koppel tells Sean Hannity he is bad for America

Sean Hannity has been experiencing a days long temper tantrum over this.
He has whined, insulted, even gotten Bill O'reily and other conservative talking heads to express outrage on his behalf.

Sheesh, Sean. You asked Ted Koppel a direct question and he answered you.
Stop crying that it wasn't an answer that you liked.
Not everyone gets a trophy. Don't be such a Snowflake, Sean!
