I've got to admit, I didn't watch it. I figured I'd wait until the smoke cleared and read what the fact checkers have to say. So, here's AP's take on some of the 'facts' Mr. Trump presented to the American People in his lecture about 'unifying' America.

Good post, rongone. Once again we see how facts can be annoying things. I'm guessing very few people take the time to do any fact-checking, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep doing it.
As a sidenote, I did watch a portion of it, but in reality it seemed more like a campaign speech so I drifted away since I heard it all before. I thought it was a bit ironic that he asked congress to end 'trivial fighting', as if he, himself, doesn't get wrapped up in that especially with his twitter machine.

Trump always stretches the truth of the matters. I will say, however, that he struck a "little bit" of a new tone in his address and IF he can stay on that path PERHAPS (and that is a big P) he can be a President of ALL Americans.
What I don't get (and I expect a lot of Conservative Republicans also don't) is that all I heard was tax cuts for business and individuals, added spending for infrastructure, added spending for the military, and on and on. I don't know about you but that never worked for me - ie cutting income and increasing spending. It will really be a "hoot" if the result is Democrats becoming fiscally conservative and Republicans the spending liberals.
There was a lot of what they accused Obama of (the "hopey-changey thing). So now it is time for them to deliver. Get us that ultimate health care for Americans at an affordable price, bring all our good manufacturing jobs back, and make us Great Again (BTW, we are already GREAT, but it would be nice to be even GREATER). So have at it Republicans - you own the Congress and Presidency so things should really start humming any time now.

I watched it. Same policies.
He toned down the crazy, perhaps to tailor himself to the room.
A joint session of Congress is a different audience than the Tractor pull atmosphere of his rallies.
But, he just read a speech. He remains immune to the truth. He takes credit for things he did not do.
Same, same.
And,,,,,,,
We are going to spend a trillion dollars on infrastructure,,,,,
We are going to increase defense spending,,,,,,,,
We are going to cut corporate taxes,,,,,,
We will get "terrific" health care,,,,,
The inner cities will be revitalized,,,,,,
The opioid epidemic will be fixed,,,,,,
Jobs will "flood" back,,,,
The deficit goes away,,,,
And every Weekend will be sunny.
