I was looking at the speaker line up at CPAC. There is hardly anyone that could be classified as a mainstream or intellectual conservative that is going to be on the stage.

Hey, at least CPAC still has Rick Santorum.
This Rick Santorum:
Rick Santorum: ”Sometimes Pregnancy Is God’s Way Of Comforting Rape Victims”

”Sometimes Pregnancy Is God’s Way Of Comforting Rape Victims”
What the samhill is this guy talking about? I wonder if he would feel the same way if the victim was one of his kids or his wife?

John Bolton will also be speaking.
"If I were doing the Security Council today, I'd have one permanent member, the United States, because that's the real reflection of the distribution of power in the world. All international laws are invalid, meaningless attempts to constrict American power."

Slightly off topic.
**NOT AN ENDORSEMENT**
**NOT A STATEMENT OF SUPPORT**
But I was snooping around the CPAC website and...credit where credit is due, the list of speakers was more diverse than I assumed it would be. I mean, yeah, it's good that Milo is out of the lineup, but the fact that they were going to have a gay man speak to the group has to say something, right? Gay conservatives were overlooked/ignored because Republicans couldn't get past their sexuality...and now enough of them are kinda, sorta willing to?
Is that the curse of liberalism/progressivism/whatever you want to call it...that the big victories are rarely in the short-term? Women can vote. Minorities are gaining greater recognition. Gays can marry. People are living longer. Education is becoming more accessible. None of it happened overnight, you have to look back over the span of 10, 20, 50 years to see the long-term success. It probably feels like failure when change doesn't happen right away, but the next generation gets to reap the rewards of the struggle.

It IS interesting how a movement can morph over time.
