Going after the Truth Tellers

Chairman: House intel panel won’t investigate Flynn, will probe leaks

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) says he won’t open an investigation into President Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn, citing executive privilege.

But the committee will investigate who leaked the story that led to Flynn’s resignation and why Trump's national security adviser was being recorded, CNN reported Tuesday.

Re: Going after the Truth Tellers

BTW, Fox and Breitbart also focused on the "leak" vs the crime as well.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise !

Re: Going after the Truth Tellers

So let me get this straight:  I commit a possible crime and the people in charge of the investigation are going to focus on the people or person that squealed on me.  Got it.  What the freakin' hell is that about?

Re: Going after the Truth Tellers

BTW, IF you caught the fiasco at the Mar-A-Largo when they were publicly handling national security issues, it would NOT take a genius sleuth to gather and leak info IF that is how they handle things normally.

Re: Going after the Truth Tellers

This is rich:

The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Tuesday that the most significant question posed by the resignation of national security adviser Michael Flynn is why intelligence officials eavesdropped on his calls with the Russian ambassador and later leaked information on those calls to the press.

“I expect for the FBI to tell me what is going on, and they better have a good answer,” said Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is conducting a review of Russian activities to influence the election. “The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded.”

I got the answer for you, Mr. Nunes. An American citizen was NOT having his calls recorded. The Russian Ambassador was having HIS calls recorded. If Michael Flynn had called his Mom, the call would not have be recorded.

Mr. Nunes, you are offering a red Herring to distract from the real issue.
And, it's not going to work.

Re: Going after the Truth Tellers

I watched Hannity last night (first time in years) just to see how the far right would be reacting.

Hannity was HAVING A COW over the leaks. Looks like the rights talking point to try to divert attention from Flynn and the Russian connections.

I agree leaks can be a problem, BUT it you look back through the history of such leaks (Iran/Contra , Watergate, etc) they were all good in blowing the whistle on corruption at the highest levels. In the case of Watergate, it brought down the Presidency of Nixon who rather than facing impeachment decided to resign. WAYY to early to tell IF this will rise to the same level, but it certainly looks like it could.

Hannity loved leaks in October.
I wonder what changed.
