Here's a clue, IMO Trump likes to exaggerate. So when he says there were millions of illegals voting or crime is up the highest in 47 years, we know he's exaggerating and don't take it literal. You might call that lying, but we know a lie from exaggeration
So, your 13 year old comes home from school and you ask how they did on that big ethics test they took the other day. "I aced it dad. Yep I got 100% on it." The kid responds.
"Good job", you reply.
Then, a couple of days later, you get notified by the kid's teacher that the kid flunked . . . got only a 40% on the test.
Now, did your 13 year old lie to you . . . Or did he just exaggerate his test score?

It Depends.
Did your 13 year old promise to get rid of the muslims?

I think I've mentioned this and brought it up on another thread: It's going to be tough for people that voted for Donald Trump to realize and admit that they've be conned, because to admit it, you are accepting that you were a participant in the con. Anyone see the movie, "The Sting"? Perfect example.

True.
That exercise in excuses, euphemisms for lying, and other mental gymnastics by Tim was really kind of sad.

I just wish more and more Republican loyalists would see the light. They've been conned. Donald Trump is not a Republican. You can stick with him, defend him all you want, that's ok, but he's not a Republican. Don't stick up for someone who's not a member of your tribe just because you gave him jersey.

It is very difficult for people to admit, even to themselves, that they have been had.
The Trump base is going to double down on their support, their suspicions of the media and the elites.
They are going to embrace such ridiculous concepts such as lies are just exaggerations, alternative facts, etc.
When the novelty of shiny objects like the wall wears thin, and heartland is not economically transformed, they may get it, and understand that they have made a mistake. Who knows.
It is up to us to understand their economic anxieties and offer them good, decent people to deal with those problems.
Hey, maybe - if he doesn't blow up the world - this Trump aberration may bring us together.

So what do you call that remark? A lie or an exaggeration? Maybe you can direct me to a reliable source that says Trump wanted to get rid of ALL Muslims.

How about you answer Ron's question instead of trying to change the subject

I guess you didn't notice, many people voted for him because he criticized both parties. There were almost as many establishment Republicans opposed to him as Democrats. You see we're not blinded by party loyalty as so many Democrats are. We see corruption of the government by elitists and globalists that are trying to enslave the working class. We know both parties are equally to blame. This use to be the way Democrats thought. They use to care about the middle class. Now the left considers this to be right wing extremism. Maybe if the sore losers would give the man half a chance, the way we gave Obama a chance, the same honeymoon most presidents have at the beginning of their first term, then if something legitimate comes up, we'd criticize him too. But no, every single day he's being attacked non-stop. Instead of learning from their mistakes of name calling and insults they've moved up to claims of fascism and comparisons to Hitler. But by all means continue, your hate, your intolerance, is just stiffening the resolve of the right and showing who the true totalitarians are.

How about if you let Ron ask his own question since you are unable to answer mine.
