This is what free speech looks like today at some of the most liberal college campuses.
They disagree with the speaker so they make it impossible for him to speak.
Violent riots at UC Berkeley shut down Milo Yiannopoulos event
Frenzy on the left growing.
Conservative activist and Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak at University of California – Berkeley on Wednesday evening. However, his event was cancelled and massive protests and violent demonstrations broke out on campus instead.
Milo Yiannopoulos was set to deliver a speech inside a UC Berkeley campus building but hundreds of protesters began throwing fireworks and pulling down the metal barricades police set up to keep people from rushing into the building. Windows were smashed and fires were set outside the building as masked protesters stormed it.
The Berkeley Police Department said people threw bricks, smoking objects, and fireworks at police officers. University police locked down all buildings and ordered a shelter in place.“This is what tolerance looks like at UC Berkeley,” said Mike Wright, a Berkeley College Republican member said as smoke bombs went off around him. Someone threw red paint on him.
UC Berkeley is known as the birthplace of theFree Speech Movement that began on American campuses in 1964. It appears that this is where it has gone to die.

Yes, it does appear that students attending liberal colleges aren't real keen on inviting right-wing nationalist authoritarian-minded fascists to speak. They probably would have even gotten worked up if a KKK grand dragon were invited to speak on their campus, too. Ungrateful buggers denying free speech to someone who has another idea about how a nation should operate.

News reports say that dozens of masked men showed up at a peaceful rally and turned it violent.
Who knows, they could be in the employ of the Milo dude for all we can say.

You oughta read about this dude.
Here's an excerpt:
When we met in Washington, Yiannopolous was in the midst of his nationwide “Dangerous Faggot” tour of American college campuses, the typical visit characterized by a short, inflammatory speech by Yiannopolous about political correctness (which may consist of little more than him uttering “Feminism is cancer”), and raucous student protests. No minds are changed and no intellectual debate is had, but both sides get what they came for: Yiannopoulos feeds his ego as the self-declared “most hate-read journalist working today” and the students feel virtuous for challenging a misogynist pig.
Befitting someone vying to be Ann Coulter’s gay male doppelgänger, Yiannopolous’ shtick is shouting outrageous things solely designed to upset liberals. He has nothing original or interesting to share; criticizing American colleges and universities for abandoning the foundations of classical education has been de rigueur on the right since William F. Buckley Jr. published God and Man at Yale six decades ago. What has garnered Yiannopoulos so much attention, rather, is not anything he says but rather the crude and bombastic way in which he says it. If the ideal protégé of the American conservative movement has been modeled on Buckley—earnest and erudite stewards of free markets and the Western tradition standing athwart history yelling “stop”—Yiannopoulos is its attitudinal antithesis, a right-wing Bluto Blutarsky.

Milo Yiannopolous is a truly despicable individual.
That does not excuse the destruction committed by the rioters at Berkeley.
But Milo Yiannopolous is a truly despicable individual, and any media outlet that would employ him and provide him a platform for spewing his hatespeak is also despicable.

Milo is a cancer. Setting parts of a campus on fire and not allowing him to speak allows the cancer to grow.
What happened in Berkeley last night was a disgrace to liberalism and free speech. In the very place where the free speech movement began in the 60's.

How do we know that the disruptors were liberal?

Excellent point. I've wondered about stuff like this. Dozens of masked men showing up at the peaceful protest and turned it violent? I wouldn't put it past this Milo guy from what I've read about him, to actually have a hand in the disruption of his own scheduled speaking engagement. He appears to me to be somewhat of an anarchist and chaos is part of his schtick.
