Here We Go

White House: 'We are officially putting Iran on notice'

US President Donald Trump's National Security Advisor has accused the Iranian government of "malign actions" after a missile test.

Without elaborating, Michael Flynn told White House reporters: "As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice."
Washington earlier declared the test to be "absolutely unacceptable".
Iran confirmed on Wednesday it had tested a missile over the weekend, but denied violating a UN Security Council resolution.

Mr Flynn did not provide any further details of what actions the US may be planning in response to the test, which Pentagon officials say failed upon re-entry into the earth's atmosphere.

I don't know what "official Notice" is,,,,,,,,,

Re: Here We Go

Historically, putting a country "on notice" signifies that military action may be imminent.

The unique thing about this declaration is that it appears as though the Trump administration issued the warning without consultation with our allies that entered into this nuclear agreement with Iran, thereby sidestepping or ignoring those allies and their input.

That, plus the fact that the U.S. currently has no aircraft carrier groups in the Red Sea nor the Arabian Gulf, lends credence to the fact that this warning was either a juvenile bluff, not thought through, or just a stupid, knee jerk reaction by our novice presidential administration.

It's going to be an interesting 4 years.

I think that we are soon to see military action in the Gulf.

He's aware that people die in wars, right??

I mean is he treating our troops like they're replaceable parts?

No  big deal?  Just make more?

Congress should  pass a "lead from the front" law.

I believe presidents would quit treating our military like they're plastic toys.

This thing will get out of hand.
This thing will get out of hand, and a lot of young Americans will be lucky to live thru it.

Let's hope they do not bumble us into yet another war.

Keep thinking those happy thoughts.

A prediction:  We'll be in another war...or two...before the end of the year.

Maybe he wouldn't be so anxious to send our men & women in uniform into harm's way if Don jr., Eric, and son-in-law Jared were required to be at the point of the spear when we invade.

Can we develop an EO that requires that ?
