Republicans know a little something about dragging their heels when they don’t want to let their opponents have their way, particularly when it comes to political appointees. Considering they blocked dozens of President Obama’s judicial nominations and refused to vote on Merrick Garland for 293 days until his nomination expired, they should not only be O.K. with Senate Democrats taking a page from their playbook but feel a sense a pride in paving the way, right?
Wrong: “I can’t understand why senators, who know we’re going to have these two people go through, can’t support the committee,” Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch exclaimed to reporters Tuesday. “I’m very disappointed in this kind of crap...Some of this is because they just don’t like the president. This is the most pathetic thing I’ve seen in my whole life in the United States Senate."
In his whole life!

I believe what he meant to say was "This is the most pathetic thing I’ve seen since I did it"
