I'm not giving up.  It bogles my mind how anyone could watch democracy (the great experiment as it was referred to by the founders of our nation) unravel before our eyes.

Replacing a democracy of, by, and for the people, with a corporate plutocratic oligarchy run by an authoritarian leader who writes and spews his own version of the 'truth' is something I never thought would happen in America.  Although I suppose it's happened many times before in nations who believed they were 'God's chosen people'.  Sigh.

Good luck, Fred. He's already demonstrated that he doesn't care if a foreign power meddles in our politics, if his guy wins.
So, I wonder if he will care if basic freedoms are lost.

One problem is that people are so barely literate in history that they can only view the concept of fascism thru the prism of the Second World War. They view any warning at all as a warning that the horrors of the 1940s will return full measure. But, what we are really talking about is the rise of an authoritarian, ultranationalist movement that is wedded to unrestrained corporatism, and will result in the erosion of basic freedoms.

Anyway, good luck. I don't think the trumpers have a clue what you are talking about, and as long as their team "wins" they won't care in the least. I hope to be proved wrong.
