Giving government back to the people by micromanaging every last tweet......
In a memo sent out to staff at the Environmental Protection Agency, the Trump Administration has prohibited press releases, social media postings, blog posts or new content placed on the agency’s website.
I can only assume that this will be expanded to other areas of the government.
This is messed up.

I was curious as to the reference to "The Beach Team" in the purported memo. Apparently, there is a group of operatives assigned by the Trump administration that go to various agencies and departments as a "landing team" to scour the "beach". An obvious military reference akin to the Normandy invasion.
(”Beach team” refers to staffers for the new administration working at the various agencies while new leadership is put in place; “OPA” most likely refers to the “Office of Public Affairs.”)
So, it appears as though the Trumpian attitude towards these departments and agencies is that they require an invasion philosophy on the part of the new administration to get them in line with the program while forcing employees to give up their constitutional right of freedom of speech.
It's not that I don't think there is room for improvement in some agencies and departments, but taking a militaristic approach prior to learning about the organization seems to me to be a bit rash and may prove to be counterproductive. Especially when one considers Generalisimo Trump's military expertise.
It's going to be an interesting 4 years.

Will the beach team be wearing black boots?

No, but I think they are required to wear Baywatch suits.

Badlands National Park Twitter account goes rogue, starts tweeting scientific facts
Just days after The National Park Service (NPS) was forced to shut down its Twitter activity over two retweets the Department of the Interior deemed inconsistent with the agency’s mission, the Twitter account for Badlands National Park in South Dakota seems to have gone rogue, tweeting numerous scientific facts about climate change that have since been deleted.
The first tweet about climate science came at 11:40 a.m. local time Tuesday. It said: “The pre-industrial concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was 280 parts per million (ppm). As of December 2016, 404.93 ppm.”
Just moments later, the same account tweeted, “Today, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is higher than at any time in the last 650,000 years” — with the hashtag “#climate” added for good measure.
Then, at 12:25 p.m., the next tweet said: “Flipside of the atmosphere; ocean acidity has increased 30% since the Industrial Revolution. ‘Ocean Acidification’ #climate #carboncycle”
Then, at 12:25 p.m., the next tweet said: “Flipside of the atmosphere; ocean acidity has increased 30% since the Industrial Revolution. ‘Ocean Acidification’ #climate #carboncycle”
The EPA’s final tweet before the social media blackout simply reads, “@GinaEPA shares a report about actions taken by the agency under the Clean Air Act during the last eight years,” with a link to a blog post by now-former Obama EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy.
While the main National Parks Service Twitter account is now back up and tweeting, its posts since the temporary halt at that agency have remained largely innocuous: benign tweets about new research libraries, sled dogs in Denali and the motivational power of the mountains. Those posts seem certain not to rub the Trump administration the wrong way. Badlands’ posts on the carbon cycle and climate change, however, seem to have proven otherwise.
President Trump has, in the past, tweeted that he believes climate change is a hoax perpetrated by China. During their confirmation hearings, however, several of Trump’s Cabinet nominees disagreed with that notion, including ExxonMobil chief executive Rex Tillerson and Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, Trump’s choice to take over the EPA.

By the way, here's a tweet the Department of Defense put out yesterday. Think their social media team was thinking of anyone in particular.......

Gag order throughout the federal government! Okay, how about recalls? Chicken and other foods that are making people sick? Cars that are killing people? Who is going to be allowed by the black booted & brown shirted beach team to post warnings to the American public about faulty consumer products? No one??? I've never been fearful of my government before now and this bunch of misfits, liars and psychopaths scares the bejeebers out of me. We have, or will misappropriate the money, to build a wall but not to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. Which government agency will lose their funding to pay for it? EPA? Now there's a great candidate with its new head canceling his state's EPA when he was governor. HHS? Another good candidate after all women's health programs a dismantled. A liar for a president who has no clue that's what he's doing who is surrounded by like individuals who agree with him and blame his lying on the bad, bad media. A president who is frustrated and becomes angry when it is proven over and over again that 3-5 million ineligible voters did not vote and were not the reason he did not grabbed the entire popular vote all to himself. He cannot stand to be last, not win the big prize or accept criticism or any negative strike against him.
