Ban on Foreign Aid to Health Groups if They Give Abortion Counseling

Trump Revives Ban on Foreign Aid to Health Groups if They Give Abortion Counseling

UNITED NATIONS — President Trump reinstated a policy on Monday that originated in the Reagan era, prohibiting the use of United States foreign aid to health providers abroad who discuss abortion as a family-planning option.

United States law already prohibits the use of American taxpayer dollars for abortion services anywhere, including in countries where the procedure is legal. But this order takes it further. It freezes United States funding to health care providers in poor countries if they include abortion counseling or if they advocate the right to seek abortion in their countries.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

This could be interesting.  Doesn't Israel fund or support a woman's right to have an abortion?  Am I right or wrong about this?

Re: Ban on Foreign Aid to Health Groups if They Give Abortion Counseling

I was right:

Israel has always had a liberal stance on abortion, allowing women facing medical emergencies or those who are victims of rape or abuse to receive subsidies to help them terminate their pregnancies. Outside of those regulations, women can apply for abortions for reasons ranging from an emotional or mental threat caused by the pregnancy or for not being married to the baby’s father. All women who seek to end a pregnancy must appear before a three-member committee to state their case, but 98 percent of requests are approved. Women under the age of 20 or over the age of 40 were also previously eligible for subsidized abortions, regardless of the reason.

With the newly amended health care package, however, funding will now be available for more than 6,000 additional women seeking to terminate their pregnancies, at the cost at some NIS 16 million ($4.6 million). No medical reason for the abortion is required.

In light of this, do we make an exception for foreign aid funneled to Israel or do we cut them off?

Well, the ban is only on healthcare workers who may offer abortion counselling,,,,,,,, because it may result in the death of a human being

The ban would  not affect military aid to buy fighter jets, bombs, missiles, small arms,,, because,,,,,um

Standby for breaking news . . .

Kellyanne Conway offered this pivot on the subject of foreign aid and abortion concerning Israel:
"You guys are twisting the facts and changing the president's words. What president Trump said the other day regarding Israel and subsequently was linked to suppositions by the ignorant main stream media, including you Chuck Todd, in his statement issued from the Oval Office and witnessed by several staff and legislative leaders on the lead up to his meeting with the leader of Israel, our partner and close ally in the Mideast, Benjamin Netanyahu, regarding the transitioning of the position of our embassy from the capital of Israel, Tel Aviv, to the traditional capital of the country of Israel and it's people, the great city of Jerusalem. It is president Trump's sincere plan that this bold and exciting move will solidify America's position of influence in worldwide affairs by designating Jerusalem as the political center of Israel as well as the abortion capital of the world. This is a tremendous opportunity for expansion of business to meet the needs of the same women that took to the streets this past week and show that president Trump is cognizant of their needs and wants. The president and his staff had been totally transparent with the importance of these issues and our plans to address them for the benefit of his internally developed priorities. If you don't agree with these positions, or are just too stupid to understand them, we will be asking you to move to the rear of the briefing room or just not attend in person. You can just log into Skype. So, since I am sure there are no questions after my clarification with these alternative facts, I'll end this press conference. Good bye and God bless America."

Nah . . . She didn't really say that . . .

Yet.

It's going to be an interesting 4 years.

Re: Ban on Foreign Aid to Health Groups if They Give Abortion Counseling

So let me get this straight:

We're going to ban foreign aid to health groups if they give abortion counseling, but we're going to solidify our position of influence by helping to make Israel the abortion capital of the world?

It is president Trump's sincere plan that this bold and exciting move will solidify America's position of influence in worldwide affairs by designating Jerusalem as the political center of Israel as well as the abortion capital of the world. This is a tremendous opportunity for expansion of business to meet the needs of the same women that took to the streets this past week and show that president Trump is cognizant of their needs and wants.

Thanks for clearing that up Kellyanne, and stupid me thought Sarah Palin was the queen of word salad.

Now wait . . . That was just me channeling my best imitation of the kind of Newspeak and Doublethink that we've heard from the Trump administration's mouthpieces.

Kellyanne really didn't say that or anything like it . . .

YET . . . Anyhow, not that I know of.

Ha!  So we are now delving into 'alternative' facts?

No matter.  We aren't going to send taxpayer dollars to countries that support abortion counselors or abortion, but hey, Israel is our bud.

"Ha!  So we are now delving into 'alternative' facts?" Fred

Yeah . . . Pretty good take off of Kellyanne, Priebus, and Spicer though, huh Fred?

Maybe there's a position for me in the Trump administration . . . I'm waiting by the phone.

Oh boy . . . This is exciting.
