From my perspective, this short article points out Trump's ignorance, naivety, or downright stupidity when it comes to international relationships.
Trump offers to end some Russian sanctions for nuclear arms cut
LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said he will offer to end sanctions against Russia in return for a nuclear arms reduction deal with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, The Times newspaper reported.
In an interview with The Times of London, Trump said he wanted nuclear weapons arsenals of the world's two biggest nuclear powers -- the United States and Russia -- to be "reduced very substantially".
“They have sanctions on Russia — let’s see if we can make some good deals with Russia. For one thing, I think nuclear weapons should be way down and reduced very substantially, that’s part of it,” Trump was quoted by the newspaper as saying.
Trump also criticized Russia for its intervention in the Syrian civil war, describing it as “a very bad thing” that had led to a “terrible humanitarian situation," The Times said.
Trump said that he would appoint Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, to broker a Middle East peace deal, urged Britain to veto any new UN Security Council resolution critical of Israel and repeated his criticism of President Obama’s handling of the Iran nuclear deal.
He praised Queen Elizabeth and said he was eager to get a trade deal done with the United Kingdom.
“We’re gonna work very hard to get it done quickly and done properly. Good for both sides,” Trump said. “I will be meeting with [British Prime Minister Theresa May]. She’s requesting a meeting and we’ll have a meeting right after I get into the White House and it’ll be, I think we’re gonna get something done very quickly.”
Trump said he thought that “Brexit is going to end up being a great thing” and welcomed the fall in the value of the pound for having helped to boost the attractiveness of British products abroad, The Times said.

You said it, Tennyson. Trump has no clue whatsoever.

Can any foreign policy Trump has be worst than the current Foreign policy or the lack of from the Obama administration? The world is ablaze. Obama's 8 years in the White House has left the world destabilized and very dangerous.
It is clear that Obama has no clue!

Poor common, the only defense of trump he can offer is to pivot to an attack on someone else.
That's no defense at all.
How about commenting on Donald trump's statements in that interview? You know, the topic of the thread.

Yesterday, an article in the Times of London quoted POTUS Elect Donald Trump as saying...
.......He called the North American Treaty Organisation "obsolete because it wasn't taking care of terror" and said member organisations are not paying their "fair share".
“I said a long time ago that Nato had problems. Number one it was obsolete, because it was designed many, many years ago. Number two the countries aren’t paying what they’re supposed to pay."
He added: "A lot of these countries aren’t paying what they’re supposed to be paying, which I think is very unfair to the United States. With that being said, Nato is very important to me."
This morning, in a press conference, German Chancellor said at a press conference......
"we Europeans have our fate in our own hands"
So the organization that has been around for 70 years, ended the Cold War, kept war out of Europe and North America, and that has enjoyed bi-partisan U.S. support throughout, is now looking towards Donald Trump and is declaring that they cannot rely on the alliance of the United States going forward.
In my opinion, this bodes worst for the West than any worries about radical Islam.

The world order that has secured peace and prosperity for the West is being undermined by trump.
This is a much bigger threat than terrorism

Well, the Mideast is in tumult for one reason and it is NOT Obama.
WIll Trump fix thing there and also between Israel and Palestine. I don't see it. As a matter of fact the two state solution appears to be dead and along with it hope of ANY peace on that front.
The NATO huff with Trump is terrible for our allies in Eastern Europe and great for Putin.
Like I said, God help us.

Undermining NATO will encourage Russian aggression, and intimidation.
In worst case scenarios weaker states may cut their own deals for survival since the U.S. Will not be viewed as a reliable ally.
At some point we will realize that the loss of Europe is not an Amazing Deal, and we will push back. And a lot of people, in uniform or not, will be lucky to live thru it.
God help us indeed.
