Treason?

TWITTER MELTS DOWN OVER “TREASON” AFTER TRUMP PRAISES PUTIN

The president-elect called Putin, whose government was just censured by the Obama administration for acts of cyber-war, “very smart.”

Donald Trump found himself in a precarious position Thursday after President Barack Obama imposed additional sanctions on Russia for its alleged efforts to interfere with the U.S. election, and in an even more awkward spot when Russian president Vladimir Putin responded Friday by refraining from any reciprocal retaliatory action—apparently awaiting friendlier relations with the incoming administration. But instead of standing with the current U.S. president, Trump decided to use his platform to praise the former K.G.B. official, who is believed to have personally orchestrated multiple acts of cyber-warfare against the country Trump will soon lead.

Jut add it to the list of items he's guilty of.

Re: Treason?

I never thought that I would live to see the day when a president-elect would publicly side with a former KGB agent over his own country's President.

What a absolute disgrace.

Re: Treason?

Twitter treason? The nutty melt down continues from the left. Why was the Russian Ambassador not declared ‘persona non grata,’ and thrown out of United States? Does anyone think this would be happening if Hillary won the election? Nope it would be coronation time for her!
What happened to the special Russian reset between Russia and Hillary?

Trump Derangement Syndrome has arrived and he is not President yet!

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Re: Treason?

I wouldn't call it treason.
I would call it crass, unprecedented, and dangerous.
Foreign powers should not be able to play American Presidents against each other.
Now, do you have anything beyond coining silly terms and posting silly faces to offer on this topic?

Re: Treason?

Is his statement treason?  No, not even close.

It just seems to be typical Trump where he will say nice things about someone as long as they are saying or doing something he likes.

I must say however, this strange relationship between Trump and Putin should be monitored very closely.

I agree. His infatuation with Russia bears close scrutiny.
And, as someone pointed out, he hasn't been sworn in yet. This country has one president at a time.
Any disagreements that Trump has with the current President should be discussed privately, or deferred until he is sworn is.
This is unseemly, at best.

Re: Treason?

Every president, probably going back to George Washington himself, has been accused of "Treason" by their political enemies.

It's stupid.

We're watering down the term to the point where actual treason occurs, no one will believe it because it has lost its definition.

All that said, I think I'm a pretty optimistic guy. I look for the best in people and although I didn't vote for Trump, I hope he does well. And I don't want to think there's some sinister motive for all of his praise of Putin.

But I just don't get what his game plan is with Russia. Does he want us to be allies?

I mean, outside of oil and natural gas, and weapons I suppose, there isn't much Russia has to offer the world.

So what is the endgame for Trump as it pertains to Russia?

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

Re: Treason?

It's a different worldview, for sure.
Trump, perhaps just views the world in terms of business deals and not other vital national interests?
It's screwy

Re: Treason?

Honestly, I think Donald Trump simply admires Putin's management and leadership style.  It might have nothing to do with Russia itself.  Just my take on the whole controversy.
