We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Asparagus

OMG!  Does that look good or what?  Two of my favorites, pancetta and asparagus, all rolled (literally) into one freakin' yummy looking dish.  I could eat a plate of that and call it a complete meal!  Thanks for the recipe.

Re: Asparagus

That is how I roast my asparagus.  I did not start eating it until I was an adult.  Mom made it at home but she was one of those cooks who cooked vegetables to mush.  I hated vegetables.  Then a date took me to a fancy restaurant where they cooked their vegetables crisp-tender. I enjoyed asparagus for the first time there.  Now I love vegetables cooked crisp-tender.  Years later whenever I invited Mom for dinner, she would say my vegetables weren't cooked enough.  LOL

Re: Asparagus

Wow!

Asparagus and rhubarb are the only vegetables that are true perennials.  Starting a bed of them is an investment that can last a gourmet lifetime.
