Police disburse unruly Penn State fans after victory - again

It's a shame that the celebration of a major comeback win would turn so bad. Two words describes what happened. Alcohol consumption.

Police estimated that fans did about $30,000 in property damage.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — State College police say they're again investigating reports of property damage and possible rioting by fans following a major victory by the Penn State football team.Police used pepper spray, and mounted officers in riot gear to disburse what they called an "unlawful disturbance" following Saturday night's Big Ten Championship win over Wisconsin.

Police haven't announced arrests, but reported some fans climbing on street signs, others removing a street light and even one report that a fan sprayed a police horse with a beer.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Man . . . Makes me yearn for the good old days when college kids got arrested for protesting the U.S. military action in Vietnam Nam.

What's the matter with kids these days?

They lose, there's a riot.

They win, there's a riot.

It must suck living in State College during football season.

People are effing fanatics.

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.

I love my Nits. And I love State College.
But, don't let the fairy tales fool you.
The place has a seamy side as well as a good one.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
