Trump to nominate Elaine Chao for transportation post: source

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President-elect Donald Trump plans to nominate former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao to head the Transportation Department, a source with knowledge of the decision said on Tuesday.The source, who requested anonymity, confirmed the pick to Reuters. Chao, the wife of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, served as labor secretary under President George W. Bush and was the first Asian-American woman to hold a Cabinet position. The formal announcement was expected Tuesday afternoon.

I'm not convinced of that, Man. It appears it's becoming quite an assemblage of Washington 'insiders' and billionaires. I heard the figure of 35 billion as the collective wealth of his appointments so far. It's hard for me to relate to those he's appointed just as it must be hard for them to relate to me.
From my perspective, his administration is looking like it's becoming a plutocratic oligarchy and the business of governing moving toward autocracy.

FWIW, I think any president's cabinet is going to be full of billionaires and insiders.
You're just not going to appoint Mike the Butcher from Hoboken to be Secretary of Labor.
That said, appointing Chao to a cabinet position just smacks of a favor to Mitch McConnell.
