Re: Elizabeth Warren Tears Trump a New One

Warren's remarks about Trump using business insiders is right on the money.
So much for the swamp being drained.

It's really worth the read.  A letter from Elizabeth Warren to Donald Trump:

Warren really hits the nail on the head.
Donald Trump did indeed adopt much populist rhetoric in his recent campaign.
However, now that he is picking a leadership team, we see the same faces we have always seen.
Lots of K Street, ample amounts of Wall Street, but no Main Street. More Ivy League than Carolina league, if you get my point.
Hey, I don't particularly care for populism. But that is what the guy promised.

In the end, all of the hopey changey stuff  that Trump has promised looks like a pretty typical elitist administration, albeit with a large rightward tilt. Look for banking protections to be eliminated, and for industry to get away with murder when it comes to fouling the environment.

I don't see much coming that revitalizes rural areas, at least not for long. Those people will struggle with stagnant wages and limited opportunities, while Wall Street gets richer "managing" money, and the air gets more unhealthy.

The Wall, and the muslim ban will most likely (and thankfully) soon be forgotten.
BTW, those things weren't going to revitalize rural areas either. So, what was it really all about?

Anyway, it is my contention that the "economic insecurity" argument about the rise of the Trumpers is way overplayed.
It's a broader, cultural insecurity that includes changing economics, and demographics that has disrupted the so called heartland, and given rise to this populist/xenophobic movement.

The letter is fine. There's two things I take away from it:

1) Sen. Warren to play the role against Trump that Ted Cruz played against Obama. A consistent thorn in the side of the president.

2) This letter serves as Warren's intention to take the baton from Bernie Sanders and lead the liberal wing of the Democratic Party

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

Yea, I just don't remember "Protect the insiders and special interests " being chanted at trump rallies.

I'm concerned too over Trump family members becoming too involved in his meeting with other world leaders.  Family members have no security clearances no should they ever, plus he's still tweeting (blabbing) stuff he should not be.
