‘Not Our President’
Shortly before the Hillary supporters had the rug pulled out from under them they were crying that Trump might not support Clinton if she won. Oh, how ironic, here's the perfect example of the peaceful, tolerant, left. Throughout this entire election campaign we've seen how the definition of hate and racist is not having the same viewpoint of them. They are completely blind to their own hypocrisy. Here's just a sample:
deplorables
racists
haters
homophobes
islamophobe
deniers
birther
teabagger
etc, etc. I'm sure those on the right have noticed, but have the Hillary supporters noticed the right has no such name calling? There is no Christianphobe, malephobe, caucasianphobe. No, they are far too mature for such name calling. As the riots show if the left doesn't get their way, they throw tantrums. Fred, this is the definition of hate, not some made up definition because you disagree. Where do you see Republicans or those on the right rioting when Obama got elected? Oh how the MSM would be outraged if Obama was burned in effigy, where's the outrage over Trump being burned in effigy? I hear plenty of stories of those who have GOP bumper stickers being harassed or having their car vandalized. I've heard far more stories of Trump signs being stolen or vandalized than Hillary signs.
This election is about middle America, the foundation of the country being heard. We are fed up with the status quo. We are fed up with the left trying to destroy our culture and our way of life. You call that hate, but we see through your lies and have decided to act. Trump has reached out to you to join together to save what's left of this country, he has never called Hillary supporters names. It's up to you now to decide if we can work together to get this country back on track.

“People have to die” – Post-election protests fueled by Dems’ “Trump is Hitler” rhetoric

I guess that you missed it, but both the President and Hillary Clinton vowed to work with President-elect Trump for the good of the nation. Something Trump refused to promise in the event that he lost.
That's what we call an apples to apples comparison.
You've offered an apples to oranges comparison.

Gloaters gotta gloat.
Let's wait and see what the Drumpf dynasty proposes and puts into legislative action plans that truly benefit the vast majority of middle Americans before we cast judgement on the new administration.
Thus far, there have been no definitive plans or proposals put forth. Let's see how he puts some of his campaign rhetoric into reasonable national and international propositions. Let's see how effective he is in working with opposing points of view. Then we all can start making judgements on the viability of his administration.

When will the gloating stop?
Is that all that the Trumpers are about?
I'm anxious to see some of the promised Hopey Changey stuff.

I think you may be missing a couple of things, Tim.
First of all, we need to remember that Clinton got more votes than Trump and many don't believe that's how democracies should work.
Secondly, I still don't know what Trump's policies are. Unfortunately for all of us (that includes you and me, too) the entire campaign season wasn't about discussing issues, policies, and real solutions based on rational thought and vision. It was all about insults, innuendo, verbal bomb-throwing, and back and forth pissing contests. In my opinion that's where Clinton's campaign blew it ............. she played Trump's game and Donald Trump is one of the best pissing contest combatants in America today.
Thirdly, most of us are willing to continue to promote our ideas regardless of who is elected president. I'm ok with waiting to see what this new administration does to "make America great again". I want to see if it's more than a catchy, hollow campaign slogan on a baseball cap.
And, finally, the ball is in his court. He can prove to everyone that he's not the thin-skinned, narcissistic, egocentric, sociopathic, authoritarian that many others think he is, and he can do it via his decision-making. I'm willing to give him a chance.

Well said, Fred. I completely agree.

Is birther a nasty name showing The left's intolerance, or is it merely a descriptive term for people who denied, against all evidence, that Obama was born in this country?
What else would one call them?
And, if you favor a total ban on Muslims traveling to the US, and wear a "F___ Islam" T shirt to a Trump rally, is not Islamophobia a fair term?
And, if you are a writer whose entire body of work is to author pieces denying that man made climate change is occurring,,, is it hateful for me to refer to him as a denier? After all, he refers to me as a climate alarmist.
Not getting your point, Tim.
BTW, the right has no namecalling?
Good one Tim!

I have no problems with Trump fans gloating in the days after a hard fought election. Because in three months, the weight of the world will be on Trump's shoulders, and everything he does will be criticized in this hyper-partisan environment.
I do have a problem with the people who are protesting, (although I support their right to do it.) We can't be for fair and free elections only when things go our way.
And for all the caterwalling people did over Obama being elected in '08 and '12, there wasn't anything like this by McCain/Romney supporters.
Everyone just needs to calm the hell down.

I think they will. I too detest any violence, but the protests themselves underscore that the Trump victory is not a public mandate by any stretch of the imagination. The 2008 election by contrast was a total mandate. The GOP has (as I stated in the Ryan post) a mandate to govern. I hope for the best and I believe do most if not all Americans.

Curious if the people protesting on the left will continue to do so all the way through his presidency?
Kinda like the people on the right did?
I understand people call themselves adults.
