Ammon Bundy, 6 others acquitted in Oregon standoff trial
(CNN)
Seven people who were among the armed occupiers of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon earlier this year were acquitted Thursday of charges related to the 41-day standoff.Ammon Bundy; his brother, Ryan Bundy; and three other people were found not guilty of firearms charges and conspiracy to impede federal workers. Two others who were acquitted were charged only with conspiracy.
The federal jury couldn't reach a verdict on a theft charge against Ryan Bundy.

Need to read up on the ruling. Hadn't really been following the trial, but it seems odd they were acquitted.

Can you imagine what would happen to 7 armed black people who forcibly took over federal property?

The Bundy brothers will remain in federal prison until pending charges against them resulting from the incident in Nevada are adjudicated, even though their attorney threw a tantrum in the courtroom and had to be physically restrained by courtroom officers when the judge announced that the release request was denied.
So, I still wouldn't count on the Bundy's showing up at your Thanksgiving bash Common.

One of the sure signs of fanaticism is when people begin to believe that the "noble" nature of their cause puts them above the laws of the nation they claim to love.

This article sums it up for me:

Hard to imagine an acquittal in this case.

I'm puzzled over this acquittal.

I can't help but wonder what their opinions were about police shooting people in urban situations.
Cheer for them today, threaten to kill them tomorrow?

Lots of cheering about this by posters on Fox and other conservative social media.
Freedom, tyranny, and all that stuff.
I wonder how they would react if 7 members of Black Lives Matter armed themselves and took over a federal building in Boston to protest injustices that they perceive. On second thought, I don't need to wonder. I've seen these folks freak out when someone doesn't stand during the anthem at a football game.
