At some point, 5 years, maybe ten, the North Koreans are going to be able to make a warhead small enough to put on a ballistic missile. One that can reach Japan, or perhaps even the west coast of the US.
What, if anything can/should we do about this?

Get the nuclear regulatory agency, in conjunction with South Korea, China, Russia, and Japan, plus any other concerned countries in the region to look for viable solutions to the problem. Even with North Korea being a 'closed society' ruled by an egomaniacal nut case, I'd be surprised if there aren't a few dissidents dissatisfied with the status quo that would be willing to aid in bringing this regime to an end.
The U.S. has no ties nor agents/operatives with access to the country that I am aware of. There will be those who clamor for military action, but that will only exacerbate the situation . . . And we've been down that route before. We can support regional countries in their efforts short of sending military forces into combat. Our only 'boots on the ground' involvement should be continually sending Dennis Rodman to sleep overs at Kim Jung Un's palace to infuse the place with incessant, garbled, inane stupidity.

I think that China is the key in all of this. Apparently 2/3 of NK trade is with China.
The question is, how do we get the Chinese to work with us?
