What's Going On in York?

Dirt bike riders harass pedestrians, motorists in York, police say

YORK, Pa. —Several riders of unlicensed dirt bikes and ATVs have been arrested in York after they drove through the city, officials say.

York City police said the riders were harassing pedestrians and motorists. More arrests are expected according to police.

“The operation of unlicensed motorized bikes, scooters, dirt bikes and ATVs are illegal and when apprehended, the individuals will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law that is allowed,” reads a statement from police.

Police thanked the public for reporting the illegal behavior and encouraged them to come forward to help stop the activity.

“We will not tolerate this criminal behavior that threatens the quality of life for our city residents and our police officers will be vigilant in prosecuting the individuals responsible,” said Mayor Kim Bracey.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

I'm going to say it is the result of clueless parents just glad their kids are outside and not interfering with whatever they are doing in their living rooms.

Re: What's Going On in York?

The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

Is this kind of thing going on in other nearby towns and cities?  I'm not aware of anything like this in Lancaster.

This will last right up until someone takes one of them off their bike with a baseball bat.

Or something worse.
