I would go along with that.
Also, just because they were acquitted doesn't mean that they did their jobs in an acceptable fashion .
Hence the huge settlement to make a the threat of a civil suit go away

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Some would do well to study the difference between torte law and criminal law.

There is definitely a huge difference in the evidence needed to bring a judgment in a civil case vs a criminal case. 

We should note that in the case of Freddie Gray no civil case ever was initiated. The city decided to make the payment in essence to avoid a long protracted civil case. There was both approval and disapproval of the quick settlement as the following article recounts.
