The evidence points to the thugs have gotten 'thuggier', not the police have gotten worse.

There are no easy answers here, but there are easy headlines that creep into the news every day.
No one wants to see an innocent person get killed or a cop get shot by someone he encounters either.
Take the time to research the opposite information about cops hesitating and its implications which there have been many similar article about over the course of the last couple of years especially.

Yes there is data out there showing that this is a complex issue, with opportunities for all to do better.
Complex problems defy labels and easy solutions, as you have suggested.

I'll leave this here. Good stuff.

Just sayin', there is a complex problem out there.
And it defies racist, dog whistle terms.
Excellent studies reported in the NYT and other serious media, if one cares to read them

This is just one of numerous articles about how policing has changed since Ferguson, and not for the better.

Yep, and I would go even further and say people in general showed more respect to each other in 1958 than they do now. Look at the lack of respect shown to teachers in school, both by students and parents.
Have you ever wondered if there is any culpability on the part of some police,,,, any at all,,,,,
Or did people just become bad?
Absolutely there are some bad police officers! There is no place for them on the force and strong corrective actions must be taken to fix that problem.
But what Black Lives Matter does is push a narrative that is FALSE! The police officer in not the major threat to black males it is other black males. Go look at the FBI UCR. It's right there for who every wants to look it. Black Live Matter also pushes the lie "Hands Up don't Shoot". That is a flat out lie that never happened. The one lie has caused great damage to police across the country. Screaming in the street that cops are killing as tho that is the major threat against black males. We all know it's not.
One other thing when you decide to fight the police in the street bad things are going to happen to you. If you feel mistreated. After the stop is over file a complaint don't fight the police because you will lose.

Maybe like the photos posted. 1958 and 2014
That is like comparing apples and pizza!
One is a police officer at what looks like it could be a parade or some gathering in the community.
The other photos is during or just after the riots in I believe Ferguson. Where city blocks were burned down and police officers were shot at. Full out riots for many days.
So a photo comparison like that does nothing but inflame already bad situation.
