I too had underestimated the residual amount of racism in this country before Obama was elected.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

I've always thought the dislike of Obama's policies, programs and such were rooted in racism. Many people to this day refer to the president with disgust, never giving a thought to all the good he has accomplished for all Americans. Again, racism. We cannot blame black people for feeling the way they do.
