SCOTUS: Obama Immigration Executive Orders Remain Blocked
In a much-anticipated decision, the Supreme Court issued a tied decision Thursday in United States v. Texas, which dealt with the constitutionality of the executive orders President Barack Obama issued regarding parents who were illegal immigrants but whose children were citizens or legal residents (commonly known as DAPA). The Court’s opinion in its entirety: “The judgment is affirmed by an equally divided Court.”As we’ve noted many times, with the death of Justice Antonin Scalia earlier this year, the Court has only eight members.
Tie votes allow the last lower court ruling to remain in place, as happened here. This is far from the last word on DAPA, however. There are additional appeals the government can make, and whoever is nominated by the next President to fill Scalia’s seat on the bench will have a very critical vote.

Damn that Obama White House !
Let's hope the next president will nominate a qualified judge to replace Scalia so we can avoid these situations in the future.
Oh . . . Wait a minute . . . Obama already did that, but the legislative branch of the government abdicated their constitutionally defined responsibility and refused to take up the nomination.
Besides, I hear our elected representatives decided they needed a two week vacation yesterday.

Just more illegal actions by the Obama administration stifled by the court!
United States v. TexasFrom the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals:
"The administration’s interpretation of the Immigration and Naturalization Act, Judge Smith wrote, would effectively vest the Secretary of Homeland Security with the power “to grant lawful presence and work authorization to any illegal alien in the United States—an untenable position in light of the INA’s intricate system of immigration classifications and employment eligibility.” In other words, Smith wrote, “the INA flatly does not permit the reclassification of millions of illegal aliens as lawfully present and thereby make them newly eligible for a host of federal and state benefits, including work authorization.”

If I were you, I wouldn't vote for that guy again.

What the heck do these people need work authorization for?
They're already working . . . that's why most of them come here. Why don't we quit screwing around and go after the employers that hire these people?
And, CS, calm down man. You only have another 6 months to put up with your hated Obama White House, how was he ever elected by the majority of Americans . . . Not once, but twice. Then you can look forward to complaining about the next president. Sheesh, you must be one unhappy person to spend all your time looking for things to complain about.
Or, maybe you should think about buying an annual membership to one of those "rage rooms".

You and I have been saying that ever since the immigration flap began, and yet no one has answered that question. Gee, I wonder why?

I have to agree here with rongone. It's hard for me to relate to anyone so dedicated and loyal to a political team that no matter who wore that team's jersey would be defended no matter what they said or did. Makes me glad and relieved I never joined one.
